From the Southwest website ….

Congratulations! After 27 long years, the Wright Amendment fight is finally over! Beginning October 19, 2006, Southwest will begin selling one-stop (same plane) and connecting service outside of the Wright Amendment restrictions. And in eight years the Wright Amendment will be completely eliminated. This is a momentous day in Southwest Airlines’ history–a day which never would have arrived had it not been for the heroic and steadfast efforts of all our wonderful Employees and Customers.

Finally, the socialist legislation, the Wright Amendment, is finally repealed.  For some of you, this may not seem important.  But, my wife is from Dallas.  Finally, we can go to Dallas direct – without being routed through Houston, St. Louis, etc.!!!!!!!  Woo hoo!!!!
