Fred Thompson on Meet the Press
I thought Fred had a good solid performance with Russert this morning. Obviously, having an advisor with such a dark past is a difficult position for any candidate to be in… and getting blind-sided by a friend is even worse… but, I thought that Fred handled it well.
Fred’s views on abortion and gay marriage – while honest – will be a difficult sell for some conservatives. I admit… that concerns me as far as how it will impact his performance. The real tragedy I see is that I know that Giuliani and Romney are NOT conservatives… and I know that Fred is the real conservative in this race. Yet, he has thrown them up a softball to attack him on his conservative credentials.
