Gore’s move of the week — Environmental Woodstock
Well, you have to hand it to the guy… like him or hate him… Gore has truly carved out a niche for himself. And, frankly, it is very positive.
Is he or is he not going to run for President? He says no. And, I really don’t think he will. But, who knows, really? After last week’s article in the Tennessean discussing his fortune, I really just think he is fat and happy. He doesn’t want to go through the pain in the ass of pursuing something like that any more…. while dealing with all the BS of becoming President … when he can do something so large as “saving the world”.
Kudos to Gore. Kudos to all who are bringing the environment to the forefront. It is time that we all focus on it. I watched some of the concert. I found the little environmental information breaks to be informative.
But, I do hate the fact that the environment has become “that Democratic issue”. It also upsets me that some Republicans appear to be “anti-environment”. Look, we as Republicans started the EPA… we do have environmental credentials. So, for us to run from an issue and take positions that will one day sound completely absurd is … well … stupid.
I think it is time for more Republicans to take on environmental issues…. it is high-time that people who actually care about our environment and our world not be called “tree huggers” and other ridiculous names that serve the purpose of maintaining mediocrity. Now is the time for a new Republican leadership that embraces this issue … but, with a very responsible conservative approach.
