Gary, I would not characterize this as "red-baiting". These are his words. We have a fundamental disagreement on the role of government in economic policy.

The reason George H W Bush called Reagan’s tax cuts for the wealthy "voodoo economics" is that economic principals and PRACTICE prove that when the masses are wealthy, everyone is wealthy. Look at history. If you consolidate the wealth in the hands of the few, the masses suffer. Think of serfdom. The wealth does not trickle down. What does trickle down is exactly that: a trickle. And it’s not enough to sustain economic growth and prosperity. As we have just seen. So, yes, a rising tide brings everyone up. Of course, some people may go through withdrawal at having to pay their fair share in taxes, but they’ll get over it when everyone is better off.

And like I said before, soon enough someone will get into office who will repeal all of the policies that get us out of this crisis.

Honestly, redbaiting is the last ditch effort right before the election? Because we all now how effective McCarthyism was, right? Edward R Murrow is rolling in his grave right now.
