Nuts and bolts, we got screwed.

B.S., B.S., and B.S…. And, if you don’t know what I am talking about, you didn’t watch the Vanderbilt game.  You can work hard your entire season.  And, you know that when you get inside the Sweet 16, with that level of competition, you know the games will be close.  And, it SUCKS when your entire season comes down to a blind official (who was in position to make the call) who can’t see a player (OBVIOUSLY) travel.  And, you can’t help it when an official single handedly cheats your team and takes away from you what is rightfully yours.

This moron official needs to issue a formal and official apology to Vanderbilt, its players, and fans.  He does not deserve to be officiating at that level of competition for missing something SO flagrant. I will never accept that we didn’t get to the Elite 8.  When you lose at this level, that is acceptable.  When you are cheated, it leaves a bitter taste in your mouth.

I stand behind no one in my love of Vandy basketball (well, maybe behind Stallings, the team, and Mr. Rich), and Green definitely moved both pivot feet before THE SHOT. On the other hand, my son and I, over the phone in a game postmortem, agreed that Vandy fouled Green probably twice in that sequence. So, yeah, we got screwed..moving both pivot feet is something that an elementary school ref should call, but we did get a break.

What this tells me is that Vandy, this season, could play with ANYBODY in the country, at least on a neutral floor and give them a game. It’s been a long time since I could say that.
