Redstate has a good post, discussing how President Bush needs to – once again – act as a strong President, in his leadership of our war effort. I must say – I agree. A year ago, we were discussing concepts like “victory” with regard to this war. I don’t feel that President Bush is talking about “victory” anymore. We are discussing “success”. I know this is mere symantics. But, it is representative of where our Iraqi strategy has gone. Clearly, the White House and the Pentagon underestimated our commitment in Iraq from the outset. And, it appears that they are still reacting in shock to the performance of insurgents – years after this war started.
It is vital that we have victory in this conflict. Iraq is a critical buffer in the middle east. If it is overcome by Muslim extremists, may God and Allah help all the peace-loving people of the middle east. Pulling out, at this point, is not the answer. Strength and victory are the only options.
