I just received this notification from the Haslam campaign…

VV has a piece about how Zach Wamp is interested in running for Governor in 2010. Very interesting. Can I see a show of hands here of all of those who are not interested in the Governor’s office in 2010???…. so that makes….

• Bryson
• Blackburn
• Wamp
• Haslam
• Maybe Frist??? Because he needs the position?
• Maybe Fred?… depending on what happens in 2008
• Possibly Ford? Not because he wants it … but because he needs to accomplish something, politically, before he runs for President other than continuing to win a Congressional seat that daddy gave to him at the age of 28.  Unlike the other Fords, at least this one does not have legal questions associated with his name.
• Van? Because Van runs. That is what he does. He runs. Whatever. Whenever. He runs.
• Cooper? Probably not. Methinks he is very happy where he is.
• Tanner? Insiders have shared with me that this is his career aspiration.

Man, this will be exciting. Regardless of who all on this list runs, it will be exciting – and, definitely, a crowded field.
