Sometimes, when things like this happen, I have to go to my favorite source - Wikipedia!  And, the great wiki tells me that Eliot Spitzer got a 1590 on his SAT and a PERFECT score on his LSAT.  How could a guy so smart do something so stupid?

I think, sometimes, it is helpful to not be too smart.  This is a guy that has always been smarter than everyone else in the room.  And, in this case, he thought that he could continue to “outwit” everyone else.  It seems like, so frequently, it is people like this - who are so brilliant - fall the hardest.  Tragedy.
