Why Me (Vandy Fans)?

Ah, yes, the annual ritual . . . the imploding of the Vandy basketball season.  It happens every  year about this time.  What causes this?

You can set your watch by it.  Now, we have lost 6 of the last 7 games.  We start out with a bang and end up with a faint murmur.  And, I am tired of hearing people say . . . “but, we played such a great game.”  Who cares?  Frankly, the only thing that matters is the final score.

I am staring to wonder if Kevin S. is the problem.  Let us look at this situation.  We have one of the most talented Vandy teams that we have had (overall) in a while and yet we go on a losing terror – despite our fabulous start.  I am starting to question the approach of our coach.  What Vandy does every year is equivalent to starting a marathon, getting to the half-way point, and heading to the water cooler.

And, does anyone have any idea what is “really” going on with Mario???  This is a bit of a mystery.

Vandy fans, here’s some advice: First, get an athletic department. Second, try to get a coach and pay him well. This seems to have worked for the 11th ranked Vols.

  2. Phil Ayres says:

Yes, CDog, I would have to agree. But, the athletic department has not helped the lackluster Vols in football. The only thing that will improve their plight is to fire the Fat One.

  3. Cdog says:

Ah, how fast the subject changed from one sport to another. And, Phil, there is no need for name calling.

Tennessee Football has one guiding principle: stability breeds consistency. This is the resaon Coach Fulmer remains despite our lackluster 2005 season. Likewise, it is the reason that Coach Cutcliffe is returning and the reason that the Vols will soon return to their previous glory.

  4. WWB3 says:

Why fire the great pumpkin? He is the best recruiter in college football. I think Cutcliffe’s return will bring in a new era of great football, great QBs, and dynamic offense at TN again.
